Offers for Childcare and the Care of Disabled Persons  

As of 1 April 2010, GEOMAR has extended its offer for providing emergency care for children as well as other care and nursing services. Employees can find further information by clicking on the following links

Crèche Places  

In agreement with the German Red Cross, the City of Kiel has granted GEOMAR the right to reserve places for children under the age of 3 (full-time care) in daycare facilities in Kiel. 

As of 1 August 2005, nine full-time places are available (6 places in the facility on Johannisburger Straße (east side of Kiel) and 3 places in the facility on Blocksberg (west side of Kiel). 

Please mind the following information:

• Only children under the age of 3 can be registered;
• monthly fee for parents: current rate set by the City of Kiel; 
• further care until the child reaches school age is ensured (this also applies if parents have a fixed-term contract or change employers);
• if the need is greater than the number of places available, a selection process will be carried out.

We ask that you register early so that all requests can be taken into account.

Holiday playschemes for kids (6 - 14 years old)

"Playschool Office":  

A playroom for children of various ages, next to which is an office with two workstations for administrators and scientistsis availbale at the East Shore Building, Building 4, 3rd Floor.
