Marine Biogeochemistry

Observational Chemical Oceanography

Prof. Arne Körtzinger

We observe biogeochemical parameters (carbon, oxygen, nutrients) using both state-of-the-art laboratory methods and sensors from a wide range of observing platforms (research vessels, merchant vessels, moorings, drifters, floats, and gliders) to gain fundamental process understanding and detect long-term change in ocean. Our approach includes development and application of new methods, hydrographic surveys, process studies and long-term observation projects.
