• April 1999 Vulkanologie auf Gran Canaria: 1-wöchige Kartierung im Barranco Arguineguin unter Leitung von Hans-Ulrich Schmincke.
• 1998-2000 Vier Geländekampagnen (12 Monate zusammen) in den Karawanken, Österreich und Slovenien zum Zwecke der Sedimentologie, Sedimentpetrographie und Chemie, Provenanzanalyse und Strukturgeologie.
• Juli 1996-September 1996 Sedimentologische und strukturgeologische Geländearbeit im Terraba-Trog, Costa Rica (TICOSECT) unterstützt durch die DFG.
