starting on February 1st, 2025.
Job Description
The planned research activity is an entry contribution to a collaborative Research Unit that is specialized in the investigation of biogeochemical processes and air-sea exchange in the sea-surface microlayer (BASS, https://uol.de/en/bass), funded by the Deutsche Forschungs-gemeinschaft (DFG) and coordinated by the University of Oldenburg. The qualified candidate will perform meta data analyses as well as model simulations, with special focus on diffusion-controlled adsorption (enrichment) of organic matter in the sea surface microlayer. Within the project consortium BASS, new experimental data are collected which, together with already published observations, will be used for the design of simulation experiments, model development, and data-model synthesis.
The successful candidate will join the Biogeochemical Modeling group, which covers a broad range of expertise, from local and regional ocean model applications to earth system modelling.
