Profile

My current research focuses on comprehensive studies of the Arctic Ocean halocline and its formation on the Siberian shelf regions applying isotope oceanographic methods.
I also work on the interpretation of planktic foraminiferal isotope data based on modern analog evaluations facillitating foraminiferal plankton tow and sediment data together with modern water data.

Recent Research Topics are:

1.     effects of sea ice and ocean stratification on climate change

2.     tracer studies identifying freshwater sources and sea-ice related brine signal within the water column

3.     variations in freshwater sources and budgets in oceanographic key regions

4.     modern analog evaluation of foraminiferal isotope data - present versus past tracer signals
