Research Focus

My research focus are physical observations of oceanic eddies, which are ubiquitous in the world oceans. Particularly I am interested in the characteristics and impacts of mesoscale eddies. In this context a strong coupling between physical, biogeochemical and biological processes is observed. To further enhance our understanding in this field, strong interdisciplinary efforts will be required.
