My research focuses on interannual to decadal variability of the Atlantic Subtropical Cells (volume transports, water mass changes, ...) and their possible connection to sea surface temperature trends in the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean. I am mainly working with observational data (ARGO, mooring data, ship sections, ...) as well as reanalysis products. Due to my Master studies I am further interested in tropical instability waves, Yanai waves and the equatorial deep jets in the Atlantic Ocean.
