Current research interests

  • development of numerical models to understand geothermal and hydrothermal systems
  • development of compressible and incompressible multiphase porous flow models coupled with chemical reactions
  • development of multiphase flow models to understand fluid and gas generation during sill intrusions in sedimentary basins and its possible effect on paleoclimate
  • fluid flow and hydration reactions within the oceanic lithosphere at mid-ocean ridges and subduction zones
  • progress of serpentinization reactions in ultramafic rocks using petrology and geochemistry
  • the effects of serpentinization on the global water budget and on the physical properties of rocks including reaction-induced permeability generation
  • effect of faulting and chemical reactions on fluid flow patterns
