SFB-754: Subproject A5 : Water mass structure in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean: Relationship to oxygen variability and geochemical properties

In TP A5 the joint hydrographic and geochemical tracer study of the tropical oceans with focus on the eastern tropical South Pacific will be continued to investigate trends of the dissolved oxygen distribution over the past 50 years, as well as present day water mass distribution and currents, and the factors driving nutrient utilization. Additional new foci will be decadal-scale oxygen variability, the influence of eddy processes, the relationship of nitrogen and silicon isotope systematics in seawater and particles in the eastern Pacific oxygen minimum zone, as well as intensified model-data.
