RV ALKOR is a medium sized research vessel. She operates in the North and Baltic Sea as well as in the Kattegat and the Skagerrak. Detailed information about history, contacts and schedules can be found here.
The small research cutter RC LITTORINA is operated jointly with the Kiel University. She mainly performs cruises to the Kiel Bay and is occasionally used for trips to the Baltic and the North Sea.
The former longboat of the POLARSTERN, the POLARFUCHS, is the smallest ship in the fleet of the GEOMAR. It is used for ecological examinations in the coastal areas off the coast of Schleswig-Holstein.
