Information for visitors at GEOMAR

The buildings are currently open to the public.

Please refrain from visiting the GEOMAR buildings if you have symptoms of an infectious respiratory disease.

At present, the infection pressure is generally high. This concerns not only COVID-19 but also other respiratory diseases. This is favoured by a longer and more frequent stay indoors during the winter season.

"It therefore remains very important to implement the existing recommendations and to stay at home for 3 to 5 days if symptoms of a respiratory infection occur, such as a cold, sore throat or cough - regardless of the vaccination status and even if the COVID-19 antigen rapid test result is negative - and until the symptoms have clearly improved. Avoid contact, especially with elderly people and people with certain pre-existing conditions who have an increased risk of a severe course of the disease in the case of respiratory diseases, and to contact the family doctor's office if necessary.
