SynCom - Better Together

SynCom offers Synthesis and Communication in Helmholtz Research Field Earth & Environment. It supports the synthesis of overarching research themes from the program and builds an interface for the dialogue with science, society and policy.

Aim of SynCom

SynCom connects 7 Centres and 9 Topics for a larger societal impact. SynCom supports the programme „Changing Earth – Sustaining our Future“ with Centre- and Topic-overarching networking activities:

  • scientific Synthesis ("Syn")
  • exchange and Communication with stakeholders ("Com")

Vision

SynCom contributes significantly to a closely networked research field with scientists who jointly tackle the major challenges of earth system research and environmental research. Through scientific synthesis, actionable knowledge is generated - with the aim of influencing solutions to the major challenges of our time.

Mission

SynCom networks scientists from all seven centers in the Helmholtz Research Field Earth and Environment in order to penetrate the complexity of Earth system research through scientific synthesis and to contribute actionable knowledge to the exchange with stakeholders from politics and industry.
