Henrichenburg: Abgetaucht (submerged)

12 Dec 2018 - 15 Sept 2019, Schiffshebewerk Henrichenburg

Submarines and submersibles of all shapes and sizes are the topic of the exhibition "Abgetaucht" (submerged) at the LWL-Industriemuseum Schiffshebenwerk Henrichenburg. In addition to the dark chapters of military use during the world wars, the exhibition also gives a lot of space to the current scientific exploration of the underwater world.  Biologists and geologists use manned and unmanned diving vehicles for peaceful research. The exhibition includes a model of the AUV ABYSS of the GEOMAR as well as prepared animals and rock samples containing raw materials from the deep sea. The visitor is accompanied through the exhibition departments by "Pings", those characteristic sounds from the submarine sonar.
