GEOMAR's large research vessels side by side on the Kiel Fjord - such a sight maybe never occured before. On 17 July 2013, ALKOR and POSEIDON sailed from the westshore pier to Holtenau together. ALKOR departed for western Sweden to recover the KOSMOS mesocosms after completing the long-term experiment on ocean acidification. POSEIDON had returned from a cruise to Norway, during which the research submersible JAGO examined and sampled cold-water corals.
