Pupils internship at Geomar

During our two-week internship at Geomar from November 17 to 28, 2025, we worked in the laboratory and participated in a research trip on the MS Littorina. We also had the opportunity to gain insights into the economic processes at Geomar and attend a lecture at Kiel University. We particularly enjoyed the four-day work phase in the laboratory, during which we extracted DNA in various steps and then multiplied it using PCR. These processes gave us the opportunity to do a lot of the work ourselves and gain experience for the future.

Thank you for your participation in the recently completed Bioc-202 MSc internship

The practical MNF-bioc 202 concluded yesterday with a superb poster presentation by the students visiting our laboratories for their two week practical. The conducted experiments were newly designed for the course and we were very pleased with the students and impressed by the results they were able to obtain in this short timeframe!

We would also like to thank all people involved from the Marine Symbioses team that supported us in making this practical a valuable experience for the students!
