Research Funding and Transfer at GEOMAR
GEOMAR's activities in the areas of research funding and knowledge and technology transfer are an integral part of the GEOMAR 2030 strategy and are based on a dialogue between marine research and society by promoting the practical application of scientific findings.
Key initiatives include policy consultations and contributions to policy-relevant assessment reports, education programs, and innovation through the commercialization of intellectual property, spin-offs, and industry collaborations.
The aim is to ensure that scientific discoveries contribute to economic development, environmental protection, and societal well-being. This includes promoting collaboration with industry, policymakers, and the public to advance innovation, support sustainable resource management, and address global environmental issues.
The team also supports GEOMAR scientists in acquiring and implementing third-party funded projects.
