  • Fusion of reaction-transport models with machine learning analysis
  • Transport-reaction numerical modeling of gas hydrate deposits and their fate under the global warming; regional and global implications
  • Multiphase reactive fluid and gas flow in porous and fractured marine sediments
  • Implications from biogenic and thermogenic methane generation and migration for gas hydrate deposits resolved by 3D basin-scale petroleum reservoir modeling, incl. faulting

Current research projects

  • 3D modeling of gas hydrate deposits at the Western Black Sea basin
  • Global estimates on temperature, pore fluid, and organic matter distribution in marine sediments
  • Large-scale pore fluid circulation and illitization processes in the Gulf of Cadiz mud volcanoes field
  • Reaction-transport modeling of the double sulphate-methane transition zones (SMTZ) offshore Svalbard as a potential link to melting gas hydrate deposits
  • Mechanisms of free gas and gas hydrate co-existence within the gas hydrate stability zone (GHSZ)
