Research interests

My research is focused on paleoceanographic and paleoclimatic reconstructions based on Cenozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary archives. I use geochemical and micropaleontological tools to reconstruct past climate variability and carbon cycle perturbations, mostly for warm phases such as the Miocene Climatic Optimum (MCO) and the Aptian-Albian transition. More recently, I have started to explore Earth System models and continental sedimentary archives to reconstruct carbon fluxes during the MCO.
