Test cruise SONNE Test 7 with RV SONNE (new)

The test cruise SONNE Test 7 with the shortly before initiated RV Sonne took place in december 2014 and led from Kiel through the English Channel to Gran Canaria.

The main goal of the cruise was to test the infracstructure of the vessel with regards to the deployment of ROV KIEL 6000, as well as the testing of tools which were new to the ROV. After a successful test dive in the port of Kiel, a second dive could be accomplished at  the Josephine seamount off the coast of Portugal with a water depth of 1070 m. During the dive, a plankton sampler was also tested.
