The HMC project instrugram aims to simplify and standardize the registration of proper instrument metadata and the inclusion of PIDs. This will be done with a templating system based on the already existing PIDINST scheme, to prepare complete metadata sets for various instrument types. A software component to register metadata from those templates at exchangeable target systems will be developed.
