As an interdisciplinary and interinstitutional program that supports the career of young marine scientists from master students to doctoral students to postdocs, FYORD is jointly organized by Kiel Marine Science Research Center (KMS) at CAU Kiel and GEOMAR. The European Universities of the Sea (SEA-EU) unites the 9 coastal universities Cadiz, Brest, Kiel, Gdansk, Split, Malta, Algarve, Naples and NORD. The network collaborates to strengthen exchange of cultures, knowledge, research and experiences.

SEA-EU offers virtual modules in the fields of Maritime and Marine Sciences taught by scientists at SEA-EU partner institutions. These may count towards your Free Choice modules in the second and third semester.

iMSMS combines ocean-related teaching from eight faculties of CAU to form a research focus on the Master student level. It provides opened elective modules from CAU, GEOMAR and the Research and Technology Center West Coast (FTZ Büsum) to enable an interdisciplinary learning environment. Discover marine and environmental research topics from various different perspectives and disciplines. 

Credits gained through iMSMS modules can be accredited as free choice modules in your Biological Oceanography curriculum.
