The German University system has two semesters. Winter semester runs from October until February of the following year. Because it straddles New Year period it is usually indicated as "WS" followed by two years, i.e. WS15/16 would be the winter semester running from October 2015 to February 2016. It would be followed by summer semester 2016 (SS16). Information on the actual education program will be published at the beginning of the terms.

HOSST started with an introductory lectures series on HOSST related scientific topics in January 2016.
