TROPAC01

Tropical Pacific Nest at 1/10°

The tropical ocean with its zonal current systems and phenomena is a crucial region for the inter-hemispheric water mass exchange. The currents also have a strong impact on the biogeochemical processes there, particularly with regard to the oxygen minimum zones in the eastern tropical basin. To explore the mechanisms and variability in this regard, a 1/10° AGRIF nest is embedded into a global 1/2° model.

Similar is done for the tropical Atlantic (TRATL01).
