The aim of M80/3 (Dec, 29th 2009 - Feb, 1st 2010) is to better understand the evolution of the seamounts in the Cape Verde Archipelago. Therefore it combines geological, biological and physucal approaches. One of the main working areas are the Charles Darwin seamounts south of the island Santo Antao. A special focus of the cruise is detailed geological and biological sampling using the ROV KIEL 6000.
